Kitchen Catechism: Words of Wisdom
If you don't behave as you believe,
you will end by believing as you behave.
This is a quote from Archbishop Fulton Sheen the priest who opened the way for religious programming on television and was a phenomenally popular TV personality in the1950's. The more I thought about this quote, the more 'reality of truth' I saw in it. I began to think about it in my own life, where my behavior had changed my beliefs or my beliefs had changed my behavior, and I thought about it in the lives of young people close to me.
It proved to be a very interesting and helpful saying. I concluded, there's a downside and an upside to it. If you make an effort to get rid of the 'downers' in your behavior or your beliefs it can really be beneficial to your entire life.
To make a determination on what 'beliefs' would be best to hold to in order to change your behavior you can have no better guide than the teachings, doctrines, dogma or traditions of the Roman Catholic Church.
On this Web Site we try to bring you these teachings of Jesus Christ as preserved and handed down to us through the Catholic Church.
Since I feel that I am traveling and learning along with you readers, and examining and applying this quote's concept helped my spiritual progress, I recommend you ponder the ideas it purports, try to incorporate them in your daily life and then reap the benefits.
